Mountain railroad inspection from 6 March

Substitute transport established
From Monday, March 6, up to and including Sunday, March 19, 2023, the Heidelberg mountain railroads will not be in operation. The reason is a comprehensive, safety-related inspection that is carried out every year.
Bus service will be provided for the lower Bergbahn route: The bus runs daily at 30-minute intervals between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. from Kornmarkt and Schloss to Molkenkur and back from there. From the Molkenkur, the last downhill ride departs at 5:45 pm. For the trip to the Königstuhl you can use the regular bus line 39. Further information about line 39 can be found here.
No tickets are required for the replacement service. Those who want to visit the castle can buy tickets directly at the castle.
The Königstuhl is only served by the regular bus line 39. The public transport tariffs apply for this connection. The bus does not stop at the valley station.
