The following nine stages are suggestions for hikes, which of course you can vary according to your individual wishes. There are many places where you can start or stop on the Neckarsteig and the direction is entirely up to you. We recommend that you allow enough time for exploring the old towns, castles, villages, historic buildings, nature trails with information boards and, of course, the wonderful scenery. In addition, the culinary delights to be found in the area's hotels and restaurants are all part of a pleasurable hiking experience.
Please note in your time planning that the Neckarsteig – with its abundance of experiences and spectacular route – includes significant height differences with challenging ascents and descents to be mastered.
On behalf of the Neckarsteig interest group, the Odenwald Club has installed the 'unmissable' way sign of the Neckarsteig – the blue N – along the route and made preparations for the Neckarsteig's certification. In addition, the Odenwald Club manages a network of 54 main hiking trails, which open up the Odenwald in all its beauty and variety for hikers.
