The Neckarsteig: a hike with unforgettable impressions (11 days, 10 nights)

Walk through the romantic Neckar valley from the city of Bad Wimpfen, with the best-preserved Imperial Palatinate, to the student city of Heidelberg. You will encounter the river landscape of the Neckar Valley, which is characterized by the foothills of the „Odenwald“, vineyards as well as woods and meadows. Picturesque towns and castles round off the picture of this lovely region.

1. Day: Individual arrival to Bad Wimpfen
2. Day: Bad Wimpfen – Gundelsheim (ca. 14 km)
3. Day: Gundelsheim – Mosbach (ca. 13 km)
4. Day: Mosbach - Neckargerach (ca. 14 km)
5. Day: Neckargerach - Neunkirchen (ca. 18 km)
6. Day: Neunkirchen - Eberbach (ca. 18 km
7. Day: Eberbach - Hirschhorn (ca.12 km)
8. Day: Hirschhorn – Neckarsteinach (ca. 17 km)
9. Day: Neckarsteinach – Neckargemünd (ca. 9 km)
10. Day: Neckargemünd – Heidelberg (ca. 13km)
11. Day: Individual departure after breakfast

The Neckarsteig is a demanding, sometimes “wild” trail that places high demands on the hiker. By using the railway (Extra) the stages on the 6th and 7. day be shortened.
