Hiking on the Neckarsteig in the Neckar valley is a real insider tip. To walk the 128 km walk from Heidelberg to Bad Wimpfen is to experience nature at its very best. With each step you escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life and immerse yourself in a wonderful natural and cultural landscape.
The Neckarsteig can be enjoyed according to your individual preferences as a varied multi-day or single day trip. The route is certified according to the criteria of the German Hiking Association as a 'High Quality Trail of Wonderfully Walkable Germany'. This guarantees the hiker a first-class hiking experience on all sections of the route, and the route signage makes it practically impossible to lose your way.
Be sure to take enough time to explore the many attractions along the way. Each of the many castles and castle ruins is worth a visit. And at the end of your hike, stop by one of the local restaurants and enjoy the regional specialties.
